About Paul Stober | Technology, Entrepreneurship & Music

From Computer Programming to Entrepreneurship, Digital Marketing, and
Artificial Intelligence

Paul StoberI’m Paul Stober, Managing Partner at E-Internet Marketing Services (EIMS), founder of PND Online Enterprises, and a lifelong student of technology and business.
For more than 40 years, I’ve been fascinated by what technology can accomplish.

But here’s something I’ve learned along the way: Technology, no matter how sophisticated, is only valuable when it helps someone accomplish something meaningful.

That’s been the common thread throughout my career—from developing computer software for golf courses to building online businesses, creating digital marketing systems, and now exploring the extraordinary possibilities of artificial intelligence.

And if there’s one thing I’ve discovered, it’s that the technology never stops changing.

Neither should we.

It All Started with Computer Science

Computer Science 1985I graduated from Millersville University in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science.

That was a fascinating time to enter the technology field. Personal computers were transforming the workplace, software development was opening new possibilities, and businesses were beginning to discover how computers could make everyday operations faster, easier, and more efficient.

I was drawn to programming because I enjoyed solving problems.

There’s something satisfying about taking a complicated challenge, breaking it into manageable pieces, and creating a system that actually works.

That interest eventually led me to my first major entrepreneurial venture.

Fairway Handicap Systems — My First Business

Fairway Handicap SystemsIn 1989, I founded Fairway Handicap Systems, a company that developed and administered computerized golf handicap systems.

At a time when many golf clubs were still relying on manual processes, we helped bring computer technology into an important part of their operations.

Our system eventually served more than 30 golf courses throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

For me, Fairway Handicap Systems represented something much bigger than a software product.

It was my introduction to building a business around solving a real-world problem.

I wasn’t simply writing computer programs. I was developing a product, working with customers, maintaining a system, and learning what it takes to operate a business.

Those lessons would stay with me throughout my career.

An Unexpected Detour into the Legal Profession

Fairway Handicap SystemsMy professional journey hasn’t followed a perfectly straight line.

From 1998 through 2006, I worked as a paralegal, with training through Blackstone School of Law / Blackstone Paralegal Studies.

At first glance, legal work and computer programming might seem like two completely different professions.

But they have more in common than you might think.

Both demand careful research, attention to detail, logical thinking, organization, and the ability to understand complex information.

My years in the legal field broadened my perspective and reinforced skills that would prove valuable in business and technology.

It also reminded me that learning something new is never wasted.

Returning to Technology — Tournament Sports

Fairway Handicap SystemsIn 2006, I returned to the technology field as a Technology Analyst with Tournament Sports, a position I held through 2012.

The role allowed me to draw on my technical background while continuing to develop my understanding of how businesses use information systems and technology.

By this time, the Internet was rapidly changing the business landscape.

Websites were becoming essential. Online marketing was expanding. New tools were giving entrepreneurs opportunities that simply hadn’t existed when I graduated from college.

And I saw an opportunity to build something of my own again.

## PND Online Enterprises — The Entrepreneurial Spirit Continues

In 2007, I founded PND Online Enterprises.

The company became a vehicle for my work in online marketing consulting, technology, and digital investments.

Over the years, I’ve worked with website development, online marketing systems, digital content, and tools designed to help businesses reach customers more effectively.

What attracted me to online business was the opportunity to combine two things I genuinely enjoy: technology and entrepreneurship.

I could build something, test it, improve it, and see how it performed in the real world.

That combination of technical development and practical business application has continued to shape my work.

Joining E-Internet Marketing Services

Fairway Handicap SystemsIn 2015, I became Managing Partner at E-Internet Marketing Services, working alongside Rick Samara.

EIMS had been helping small businesses navigate the digital world since Rick founded the company in 2007.

My background in programming, website development, and online marketing complemented Rick’s experience in business development, marketing, and customer relationships.

Together, we’ve worked to help small-business owners use technology to compete more effectively.

One thing I’ve come to appreciate about small-business owners is just how many responsibilities they carry.

A contractor wants to complete projects. A dentist wants to care for patients. A restaurant owner wants to serve customers.

Most don’t want to spend their evenings worrying about website updates, Google rankings, email campaigns, or the latest changes in online marketing.

That’s where we come in.

Our philosophy at EIMS has always been straightforward:

**You do what you do best. We do the rest.**

From Traditional Digital Marketing to Artificial Intelligence

I’ve watched the Internet transform business over several decades.

First came the growth of business websites. Then search engines became essential. Mobile devices changed how people found information. Social media, online reviews, and digital automation introduced new opportunities and challenges.

Now artificial intelligence is changing the landscape again.

And I find this chapter particularly exciting.

Today, my work at EIMS includes helping businesses use AI-powered marketing and automation tools, along with strategies such as:

– Search Engine Optimization (SEO)
– Answer Engine Optimization (AEO)
– Generative Engine Optimization (GEO)
– Google Business Profile optimization
– AI-powered customer communications
– Website development and business automation
– Online reputation and listings management

The terminology can sound intimidating.

But I don’t believe business owners need to become technology experts to benefit from these tools.

They need someone who understands the technology, knows how to apply it, and can explain it without making everything unnecessarily complicated.

That’s the kind of work I enjoy.

The Thread That Connects It All

Looking back, my professional journey has taken me through several different worlds.

Computer programmer.

Software entrepreneur.

Paralegal.

Technology analyst.

Online marketing consultant.

Digital marketing agency partner.

And now, AI-powered business solutions.

At first glance, that might seem like an unusual combination.

But to me, the connection is simple.

I’ve always enjoyed understanding how things work, finding ways to improve them, and turning ideas into practical solutions.

And I’ve learned that experience in one field often provides unexpected advantages in another.

Beyond the Computer Screen

Of course, there’s more to life than programming, marketing, and business.

Music has been an important part of my life, particularly singing and performing with vocal groups. I enjoy the camaraderie, the challenge of making music together, and the satisfaction of entertaining an audience.

Golf has also been a longtime interest, one that even found its way into my early entrepreneurial career.

I value friendships, family, personal growth, and the experiences that make life meaningful beyond professional accomplishments.

I’ve also learned that success isn’t simply about business achievements or financial rewards.

It’s about the people in your life, the opportunities to keep learning, and the satisfaction of doing something worthwhile.

Still Learning, Still Building

I graduated from college in 1985.

The technology I studied then bears little resemblance to what we’re using today.

And that’s one of the things I love about this field.

There’s always another challenge, another opportunity, and another idea worth exploring.

Artificial intelligence is opening possibilities that would have seemed like science fiction just a few years ago.

I intend to keep learning, experimenting, and discovering how those possibilities can help people and businesses.

Because after more than four decades of working with technology, I still believe the most interesting developments are the ones we haven’t seen yet.
